I thought that Joyce might explain his positioning by the fact that the score of the game was only 3-0 and he could be "guarding the line" much as a first or third baseman would. However, as the Halladay game pic shows, that score was only 1-0.

Although I do think there is some room for expanding replay, as I have opined on my blog, your expose does make the case for encouraging greater uniformity in umpire positioning, and the need for better schooling and development of the Men in Blue.andallthathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02132280453374022177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5305904754807207469.post-34038077646965655382010-06-06T17:03:58.236-04:002010-06-06T17:03:58.236-04:00Isn't it funny how Jimenez's no-hitter thi...Isn't it funny how Jimenez's no-hitter this year is practically forgotten? ;)Eli From Brooklynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00538213879535921341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5305904754807207469.post-54410548985685803962010-06-06T11:12:21.143-04:002010-06-06T11:12:21.143-04:00it's hard to fire a man who has a mustache as ...it's hard to fire a man who has a mustache as awesome as that, though.

and if nothing else, we got a great story out of the whole thing. more than what a regular old perfect game would have been. those things are a dime a dozen these days.mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07353531832593319807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5305904754807207469.post-2504769443695550372010-06-06T02:53:11.513-04:002010-06-06T02:53:11.513-04:00Thanks, Mike.
