.
When Duaner Sanchez got into a cab in the early morning hours on July 30, 2006, he was unaware of the true destination that Mohammed Shulam was going to bring him to. "To the beginning of the end," Sanchez could have very well instructed the driver. "It's not closed well. Please shut the door (on your career)," Mr. Shulam politely requested. Unknown to Duaner at the time, that action was the last solid closing he would ever accomplish by use of his precious right arm. His game would never be the same.

Sanchez was every General Manager's dream in 2006. He was synonymous with Rolaids upon coming out the pen that season. His pitching spelled relief. Every Met fan remembers the real reason the team came to be one home run away from a trip to the World Series; our bullpen. Steve Trachsel knew he only had to go 5 or 6 innings (not that he could have gone any further) since the relief squad was the antithesis of what it was in 2008. Sterling.

Whether it was Chad Bradford, Duaner, Pedro Feliciano, or Billy Wagner - if a pitcher left with the lead after the 5th inning, he was able to chalk up a W next to his name in the clubhouse for that day's work. Sorry Johan, you came two years too late.

A taxicab accident and two subsequent shoulder operations later, Sanchez sat fidgety in a seat that Omar chose for him on the morning before yesterday. He knew at heart that not even his sports goggles would be able to protect him from what was about to come. "Why oh why did I crave Dominican Food at 2:00 AM? I could have continued to be a valuable piece in the bullpen if I had just controlled my urges," Sanchez screamed to himself. And so it was. The way his shoulder separated from his body in the wee morning hours not too long ago, so too, removed from him was, his jersey, his job, and what was once said to be, a very promising career.

This was one costly cab fare that Sanchez wish he could have back.

An actual clip of just a few moments in what Duaner Sanchez's ride looked like. Seemingly, the trip was much like his career. (Not for the faint hearted).

I'm sure he had insurance and will be ok...something the Yankees dont have on CC (5 runs in 1- 2/3 innings) when he breaks down.

Unknown said...

Im happy hes gone the guy stunk ever since that stupid car accident watch him go elsewhere and get like 50 saves.

Skeptic Al said...

Joel Sherman move over.....great stuff!!!!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

G-d Forbid. G-d Forbid. Take that back. Take it back. (shivering...)

Unknown said...

who me?!?!?!?!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

(in regards to Dovy's comment that is).

Unknown said...

you know its gonna happen right?

Eli From Brooklyn said...

If K-Rod gets 60 then I'm okay with that :)

Skeptic Al said...

Dovy...maybe put on a pair of goggles before you write so you can see what you're writing.
I hear Duaners is up for sale on eBay.

Other than that I agree - it is pretty stupid.

Unknown said...

yeah i guess so but im excited this opens up more opputrunities and ther are some nice arms in camp right now

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Good point. Let some young pitchers show what they have. Flaunt it, Oh Potential Rookie.

Skeptic Al said...

Yes I agree... I think Duaner will close out 50 for the Mountaindale Yellow Jackets this year and Eli will have to eat crow.

wario said...

From almost going to Rolaids save man of the year to needing Rolaids after dominican food, Duaner will not really be missed in my book.... from dominating the game to throwing slow curveballs(might have actually been his fastball- eli look that up), he was a good teamate for aaron heilman because he took away some of the boos.... Atleast now he can eat with the rest of his Dominican buddies, they arent playing anymore either!!!

Unknown said...

hey al when your dealing with the mets ANYTHING can happen so i really would not be surprised it that does happen Ely have you watched any spring t games yet parnell etc. some really good arms get rid of all the junk

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Great points Wario (or not Wario). Any park that he pitched in was called a hitter's park.

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Dovy... I have watched some games (as Wario can testify to). Moving away from pitching - Wario and myself like Bobby Kielty. He seems like a nice spark (Angel Pagan 2008). Haven't seen much of Parnell. Any good?

Unknown said...

yeah kilety is ok i dont hitnk he will make team though ur lookin at marlin, tatis/murph, alex cora, and reed (terriblr bench) pagan is done for like 6 weeks now - yeah hes havein a great spring

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Anderson had a good game a couple days back. Hopefully, he'll have a better year this year than last year (more like 2007! He was awesome off the bench). Murphy is our every day left fielder so Tatis is a great bat off the bench. As is Ramon Castro. Alex Cora? I dont kno much about him and about Pagan, he needs an angel

Unknown said...

yeah i hope so too but hes (ma) gettin up in age, soon he'll need the bat for a cane. i dont know about that yet what jerrys gonna do (dont think he knows what hess gona do) i want pudge, cora very light hitting inf. pagan needs a yeshua

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Cancel out Cancel? Bring on Pudge? I don't trust him. He seems like Lo Duca's cousin.

Unknown said...

yeah all though he got a huge hit last year hes a huge lump on a log Bring on pudge

Eli From Brooklyn said...

As an every day or back up? Choose wisely.

Skeptic Al said...

People...don't tell me that I'm conversing with folks who actually watch spring training games. This is depressing!

Unleess watching is related to youre livelihood, than you need a big time yoshua (as Mr. DOVY likes to say.

Certainly Eli needs to stay sharp, after all his expensive habits get paid for from the profits of this very blog. But everyone else how can watch spring training baseball ?
Theres another 160+ before they really start playing...dont forget.

Skeptic Al said...

DOVY I agree with your previous comment, we can’t take anything for granted with our Shmets.

BTW this is a period (.), this is a comma (,),this is a question mark (?) and this is a mad run-on sentence (hey al when your dealing with the mets ANYTHING can happen so i really would not be surprised it that does happen Ely have you watched any spring t games yet parnell etc. some really good arms get rid of all the junk)

Didn't they teach you this stuff in Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin Cheder ?

Unknown said...

ely, not sure i mean wat you gonna get out of schnieder i mean im sick of hearing his defense already come on how good is he really, al spring t is a time to analize im not taken it too serious

wario said...

Dovy keilty will forsure make the team as a right hand bat even though he is a switch hitter. with angel out they need more bench power. keilty can offer power that only ramon has on the bench... eli does watch spring training games i can attest to that, as do i......i also lik eparnell but he needs a lot lot lot more time in the minors.. maybe him, mr.g, and niese will be the new x factor.... but this time i hope they all have long and prosporus careers with the mets!!

wario said...

al i watch spring training to get ready for the 160 coming up!!!! i have to get my body in shape for sitting through 9 innings!!!!

Unknown said...

i hear wario good insight i ahvent really been following kielty whats he doing avg wise

wario said...

then you must have missed his pinch hit 3 run homer in the 9th off the bench, 2 weeks ago! (who said this is wario?)

Eli From Brooklyn said...

I just choked on an apple reading this stuff. Lol. Wario, I am very impressed with your work ethic. Al, his grammar might need help but your spelling is sometimes not too far behind (okay, it's way behind Dovy's but improvement is necessary). Dovy, Schneider is not the answer. We got him for his defense and he did not come thru. The only thing he caught was a cold. Let's look elsewhere.

Unknown said...

whoever you are yes i guess i did miss it ok so thats a start but his resume in the majors aint that great

Eli From Brooklyn said...

It clearly states "This is not Wario" so he must be calling This Is not Wario - Wario. Duh. A nickname.

wario said...

eli pudge is not the answer either... i would rather have cancel play, i love watching him run the bases!!!

wario said...

and yes im back due to popular demand!

Unknown said...

I agree all my speklling is bad but im at work and typing fast so watever comes up comes up deal with it. I agree so pudhe can be the answer bet his offense and schneider defense we should be solid - now lets talk with second base

wario said...

was that apple from my shaloch manos??

Skeptic Al said...

Let me understand this Wario. That pocket TV of yours (the one your wife doesn't know about), you take that to the office every March and lock yourself in the stall for two hours.
Gee no wonder your loooking for jobs on Craigslist!

Unknown said...

where is my shaloch manos

wario said...

LOLOL.... i save up my off days for march so i can attend to important matters like spring training.... i have to make sure we choose the right squad

Eli From Brooklyn said...

I ate on apple you gave me. And one apple I still have. It wasn't the apple you gave me but let's hope the mets don't choke on their apple. Good point from Skeptic Al with craigslist. Dovy, your shaloch manos is in the mail. It's coming any day now. Welcome back Wario - where have you been? Clearwater (phillies camp) ?????

wario said...

i was where al said i was!! you got me

Unknown said...

o ok i will await it LEST GO METS & Rangers

wario said...

OH MY GOD SOMONE STILL FOLLOWS HOCKEY!!!! HEY KIDS COME OVER HERE AND LOOK AT THIS!!!

Skeptic Al said...

Wario..two days ago I saw you sitting in a corner screaming and crying "I wanna learn" I wanna learn" and now two days later I see your back to your regular low life self.

I wanna puke, and I havent even started drinking yet today.

Unknown said...

yeah listen there was really nothing else goin on the last couple of months

wario said...

AL??? watch it buddy, i also said i wanna stop talking to girls and wanna do teshuva!!! so please quote me properly. thank you

Skeptic Al said...

Hockeys boring...When was the last time someone streaked at a hockey game.

wario said...

i think in that will ferrel movie

Eli From Brooklyn said...

KIDS KIDS, COME HERE - Not only does someone follow hockey, we even found an Islanders fan (Wario). No wonder you're too embarrassed to be a hockey fan. The Rangers have fallen quicker than Wario's Purim resolutions (so says Al).

wario said...

ouch!!!! to much personal info has already leaked about me on this blog!!!!! ELI KEEP A FREAKING SECERET!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

LOL. I can't. And neither can this guy keep his clothing on when it comes to streaking on the ice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZX8XLYuNG4

Unknown said...

wow look how i changed the convo to hock so innocently

Unknown said...

hockey that is

Eli From Brooklyn said...

A Freudian slip, or parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is believed to be caused by the unconscious mind.

You, my friend, have caused a hock with the hockey.

Skeptic Al said...

Wario I wasnt there for that part...thank G-D..

My companies stock has depreciated in value because of my participation in this post today. The only one making money ( and laughing all the way to the bank) is Eli. I'm pretty certain that he will not share the revenue with me (even though he's selling our genuis comments to third parties - thats a diffarent scandal for a diffarent day)so off to work I go before the bell closes.

wario said...

Islanders are #1... in the draft!!! yes baby!!... no more hockey stop! keilty mmmmmmmmm

Unknown said...

watever you just said yes i did cause that u follow any other sport?

wario said...

bye al nice ttty today good luck at work.. dont forget eveyone, johan is pitching tonight at 7!!!! and im not sure its eli, i think its some ppl in pakistan he hired to blog all day, thats where all his money is going

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Lol, I'm laughing. Not because of the money in which Al thinks I am making on this blog (nor am I laughing on the typo with the word ***different***) but because of you kooks out there. The Islanders can have the number 1 draft pick. It will be Sam Bowie all over again. I can't wait. And Dovi, my list of sports (these days) goes something like this: Baseball, Football, and then Basketball and probably Hockey. It just seems so boring when I get a rare chance to watch it on Wario's pocket tv.

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Al, I didn't know your company went public. Missed that in the Journal (yes, everyone, I get the Journal). Johan at 7? MMM. Better than a donut after a fast. And I don't know where Wario got the idea that I hired someone in Pakistan to blog for me because it is not true. Not true, I say.

Btw, Slurpees just went on sale if you buy 2 red dots at your local convenient store. (Random Fact unaffiliated with my father's business).

Go to 7/11 on Nostrand to take advantage of this offer.

wario said...

ENOUGH WITH EVRYONE CORRECTING EVERYONE ELSES GRAMMER MISTAKES!!! btw eli, you spelled dovy wrong!!! (see its annoying)

wario said...

grammer, spelling same difference

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Oops, my bad. I let out another secret. He really spells his name Dovi but he didn't want anyone to know who he was so he wrote "Dovy". Secrets out. Leave it up to me.

Skeptic Al said...

Getting the WSJ obviously isn't enough...you need to actually read it. Maybe your professer didnt tell you that part. Check your notepad (wink wink).

Pakistani bloggers????!!!! Scandal after scandal is rocking this blog!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Grammar* (Ok, I'm done with it :) )

wario said...

i want my shaloch manos back!!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

No private jokes Skeptic Al or I will release the newspaper headlines from the day they let you out of prison! I'm warning you!

wario said...

rumor has it they sent him to moonlight!!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

I ate it. Too late. Genius of me not to give you in the first place. (Just kidding, I will give you lots of bread come shalash suedos time). (And this is not a private joke if i explain it - Me and Wario eat bread by Shalash Seudos. Doesn't everyone?)

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Wario is close to guessing the headlines. A mooning was involved. Yes.

wario said...

it was a stupid reason he got arrested, that whole mooning by the hockey game thing was ridiculos, no one was there not even dovy

Skeptic Al said...

I looked forward towards getting out of prison for the longest time, and now I wish I never left! U dont scare me Mr. FromBrooklyn...

I never mooned anyone ever. Stop blackmailing me. (although I gotten many requests)!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Lol Wario. LOL.

And Al, a request from yourself is not considered a request. Wario would probably be interested in a Mr. Cancel mooning on the looks of his comment on Robinson's base running.

Dovy has left the building. I think.

Skeptic Al said...

Ok the market closed...I'm back.

wario said...

how was the market today?

wario said...

do you go for the closing ? whatsup with that?

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Oh, a real educated response you're gonna get from the 3 minutes he dabbled with it.

Eli From Brooklyn said...

Or no response at all. Even better.

wario said...

uh oh... is he ok?

we might have lost 1/3 of the blog?

call him!!

Eli From Brooklyn said...

He texted me but i think he is done. OMG! Only us 2 left. What the heck should we do, Wario? Should I call Luigi to come to the rescue?

Skeptic Al said...

Fellow followers and our revered leader, I'm gone for a mere few minutes ( I left second seder to get a coffee for goodness sake...relax) and everyones getting nervous.

I have nothing left to add regarding Duaner "Dunar" Sanchez. What do you want me to do make up content for the sake of each keystrock of mine feeding into Eli's Pay Pal account ( which I will - if I havent mentioned this yet - never see a dime of) and funneled off shore (Pakistan possibly) so not to have to pay the taxes of his newfound 250K + tax bracket.

Eli From Brooklyn said...

He's baaaaaaack.

Skeptic Al said...

Wario...do you know how to count, or have you lost count, how to count, counting tiles in your offices stall today ?

Wario | This is not Wario | Eli from Brooklyn, and Skeptic Al is 1/4 not 1/3rd
