Glavine to Miss Event Honoring Maddux

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

According to the New York Times, "Tom Glavine said family obligations would prevent him from attending next week when Greg Maddux, his former Atlanta Braves teammate, has his number retired by the team. The Braves will retire Maddux's number before a home game against the Mets on July 17. Glavine said his unexpected release by the Braves, on June 3, would not have prevented him from supporting Maddux next week."

...no, the unexpected released would not have prevented him...But what about having to look in the eyes of the players he let down a little less than 2 years ago...Couldn't even get out of the 1st inning....Scared for his life, I tell ya...Wright wants to ring the man's neck...It all makes sense to me....
